Is it possible to buy an expensive LCD TV?

Liquid crystal display television (LCD TV) technology has come a long way in recent years. The implementation of thin file transistor (TFT) technology has removed many of the angular resolution and ghosting problems previously associated with cheap LCD televisions.

It is now possible to buy an inexpensive LCD TV that has state-of-the-art features and superior picture quality.

What is an LCD TV?

An LCD TV is a flat panel television that utilizes advanced materials technology to create a bright, attractive picture on a flat screen.

An LCD TV screen is made up of two glass plates with a thin layer of liquid crystals in between. When electricity passes through the crystals, tiny color pixels light up to produce an image.

How do LCD TVs Compare to Plasma and Tube TVs?

In the past, plasma TVs were the only real flat panel television option. Now, LCD televisions have progressed to the point where they can compete with plasma TVs in terms of picture quality.

LCD televisions are easier to maintain, less likely to degrade with time, and use less power than plasma TVs. And the new crop of LCD TVs have a sharper picture, require less space, and use much less electricity than tube TVs.

What are the Features of an LCD TV?

Here’s a list of features found on newer model LCD TVs:

 * Digital picture – the picture on an LCD screen is much sharper than on a tube TV and is now comparable to plasma TVs.

 * Space saving design – LCD TVs are thinner and lighter than tube or plasma TVs, and can be set up almost anywhere.

 * Widescreen format – LCD TVs utilize a widescreen format, similar to movie screens, so they are compatible with HDTV programming.

 * Flat screen – LCD TV screens are flat, so there’s no distortion as with tube TVs.

Where can I Buy a Cheap LCD Television?

The best way I’ve found to get the best deal on a television is to first check out various models at your local electronics stores and discount stores. After you get a good idea of what you want in a TV and what’s available, go online and check prices and ratings at a comparison shopping site.

With the site I use I can compare various LCD prices and find out which stores are reputable and give good service. I can also get detailed product information, ratings by electronics experts, and even consumer reviews by people who actually own the product.

Forget about sales and discount warehouses. The best way to save money on big ticket items like LCD TVs is to comparison shop online. I’ve saved thousands of dollars on TVs, computers, appliances, and even furniture using this method (click on the links below for more information on the site I use).

Visit the http://TheSatelliteTVGuide.com to get more information, to compare prices, and to get consumer ratings for LCD TVs.

There are two compelling advantages with an LCD TV. The first is that they can be much easier to watch than a cathode ray tube (CRT) model. This is because screen displays are significantly brighter with a high contrast and the flicker free picture. LCD TVs will work effectively in almost any kind of room lighting from bright to ambient. Secondly, LCDs have a higher native resolution than plasma TVs of the same size making them ideal for high-definition output. While plasma TVs are currently better at the moment for sheer screen size, as more and more television output becomes high-definition TV (HDTV), LCD technology will come to the fore.

What is the purpose of LCD? Key Features and Accessories!
LCD technology is relatively complex and improving all the time but is based upon the fact that liquid crystals are, in their natural state, twisted. The ability of the crystals to allow light through can be altered by applying electric current. In smaller set will have aspect ratios of 4:3 although some models will have 16:9 widescreen display. In built sound is likely to be simple stereo, and refresh rates of 50Hz. These sets are typically available from between Rs.24,000 and Rs.44,000. In the case of the largest sets on the market prices can reach up to Rs.2,40000. At this level you can expect a feature rich set with a 16:9 screen, Dolby Virtual Surround Sound, refresh rates up to 100 Hz, and on some models additional decoders for HDTV and or Digital and terrestrial TV.

Key features:-

* Cheaper LCD sets may come with a passive matrix system. This has a grid of conductors with pixels located at each intersection in the grid. A current is sent across two conductors on the grid to control the light for any pixel. While this set-up will save you money you may notice the effects of the slow response time and less precise voltage control inherent in this arrangement. On screen you might see some ghosting and images which are fuzzy and lack contrast.

* Where LCDs really score over CRT models is in the physical depth of the television set. Most are less than 3″ deep and can be hung on a wall or from a ceiling. This is a boon for those with smaller rooms or who want a release from the space-eating demands of a CRT.

* LCD TVs are particularly suited to act as a computer screen. Text and graphics will be made to look exceptionally sharp by their high-resolution. LCD TVs typically include connections for composite, S-video, component video and one or more RGB SCART inputs.

* Despite the slim line look, most LCD sets come with integrated tuners and speakers so there’s no need to spoil the space-saving effect by cluttering up the room with additional boxes.

Accessories :-

* These are ideal to make maximum use of a flat screen LCD TV. They will add about 2″ to the depth of the set. Wall mounts that tilt for viewing anywhere in a room are also available as are articulating mounts which mean you can push the set flush to the wall when you are not using it.

* It is worth knowing that table stands need to be suitable for the particular make of LCD TV you buy. If a stand is not included with the set check carefully before you buy one that it will do the job. read more information about LCD TV click here now

As American consumers, we love our branding but we have a tendency to love our deals more. As such, a player has emerged in the ongoing price battle in the HDTV market from a company known only as Olevia. So what’s going on behind the stage and who’s really making these Olevia HDTVs?

Olevia HDTVs are actually owned by a company known as Syntax-Brillian Corporation. They came to market fairly recently and, to be fair, aren’t a TV manufacturer per say. They contract out the assembly and parts for their TV’s, allowing them to pull from technology that already exists and not having to come up with their own methods of development. In the end, Olevia’s step into the HDTV circle with their LCD TV’s has brought a price war among other national brands and driven prices down. They are considered to be one of the companies that are responsible for bringing LCD HDTV’s into the reach of many more American families to be exact.

The two main players in Olevia HDTVs are Syntax and LG. Syntax builds the boards that are responsible for processing and displaying your HD pictures while LG builds and supplies the screens. Many of us are familiar with the LG brand but even Syntax is considered a no name manufacturer. But in the world of budget HD, this brand definitely deserves serious consideration. They’ve managed to win some awards and editor’s picks as well so there is something to be said about the quality that they can bring to the table and the old “bang for the buck” scenario we always have weighing into high dollar purchases like HDTV sets.

All but one model of Olevia’s offerings are LCD monitors. That being said, LCD is one of the most popular choices around today and they continue to find companies to sub-contract with that can provide quality HD sets for less than their competition. Even recently, Olevia has worked hard to remove things like slow response times and poor viewing angles that have become standards in less expensive LCD models. The only non-LCD TV they make is a 65″ LCoS which stands for Liquid Crystal on Silicon, similar to the DLP TVs we see dominate the markets of 59″ and above. In the end, if you are looking for a good TV at a better price and don’t want to pay the premiums often associated with bigger brands, consider Olevia HDTVs. Yes, they may not come with the premium displays and contrast ratios but they will deliver when it comes to budget.

In this high-technology era, LCD TVs are no longer a new thing but Samsung’s Touch of Color LCD TV gives a new excitement for all technology lovers out there. You might think if this only a trick, an innovation, something that sets the trend or just a witty campaign so it will gain buyers? Partly, each of it is correct.

These past few years, diverse kinds of LCD TVs are competing for the high market shares on its sales. Every company is using their creativity for them to be able to produce high quality products. One of them is Samsung. They have tried a new method so they will be absolutely distinguished from the others. Because of this, they have invented LCD flat screen TVs called Touch of Color.

Touch of Color earned Samsung a success, which is evident through its blustery popularity among their consumers. The superb design of it might have contributed on its triumph. Who won’t like a distinctive color that has the allusion of amber shade unified with the blackness of customary piano? These mixed colors make the Touch of Color LCD eye-catching, glossy and smooth.

The recognition of Touch of Color LCDs showed that people desire to have artful TVs not only while they are watching shows from it, but also while it is unused. Well, it illustrates that people want their TV to be one of their houses’ assets. Because of this demand, other manufacturers of TV might also improve their own styles and designs in the forthcoming years.

The exterior of the TV is the focus of the Touch of Color’s design element. Its simplicity offers no other unessential things such as bells or whistles. Touch of Color doesn’t stop on its design elements as it is not only for display. Users of it will also check its performance while it is turned on, and Samsung appears not to frustrate its buyers on this decisive factor either. It presents a packed 1080p picture for its crucial HD resolution. In effect, the fundamental nature of an extraordinary high clarity television is achieved on its fresh, lucid images.

Samsung presents a response time which is 4ms. Not only that. It also has 120hz frame rate accompanying its Auto Motion Plus, a kind of technology. This permits the TV to interrupt between frames which results to a smooth conversion. It grips motion tremendously well in contrast with LCD models before; thus, it is superb for shows such as sports or even your favorite movies where speedy movements arise.

You might be already impressed with the 25,000:1 contrast ratio of the predecessors’ model, you might be more astonished with the new model’s 50,000:1contrast ratio. If you’re wondering what contrast ratio is, it is simply the capability to make dark blacks if you want dark pictures, or bright whites if you prefer the light ones. Higher contrast ratio is better because it will help to see pure images and not the washed out ones we see on TVs due to lower contrast ratio.

Infolink is another feature contained by Samsung TVs. With this, you can have the right to use free RSS news and sports. Stock and weather updates are also provided. This is because an Ethernet port is included in the TV.
Even though Touch of Color’s style and features are not pioneering innovation, there is no doubt that it brought a hit to people. Because of this, it is possible that TVs considered as pieces of arts will start to be a trend soon. Either the TV is turned on or off, arts will just find its own way to be part of your ever-dreamed TV.

Eye-catching, smooth and invigorating HD images on the screen compose the Touch of Color LCD. Undoubtedly it is a competitive flat screen available on the market nowadays.

————————–
